Font Friday 6.3
Happy Friday aka weekend eve! I’m so excited for all the events I have this weekend (sneak peak: a fun photo shoot in the works happening Saturday!) and to have a few days to relax a little more. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Axis is a sans serif font that is great for headlines, posters or a small amount of text overlay. The free download only comes in the bold weight, but I love the width of the letters, and it’s legibility. Download Axis from here! Enjoy!

Prata is a nice serif font that comes in only one weight + style. But, it does have that killer ampersand. I am a big fan of ampersands with a little flair or personality, and will be adding this to my list of favorites!

Alt. Summit Recap//Font Friday
Hi All! Happy Friday. Today, I am guest posting on Squirrelly Minds, showcasing five (yes, FIVE) fonts and designs. Head on over to her site and check those out! Tan + I met at Alt. Summit a few weeks back, and I am so happy we did. I haven’t been able to verbalize the experience I had at Alt. That happened to me in January as well. It is 3 of the best, most amazing days, surrounded by the most wonderful and creative individuals. Check out my summary below. It is mostly visual, with a few tidbits here and there.
I attended my first Alt Summit in January of this year, not knowing a single person. I think that was the best decision I have made to date. I love trying new things, going on adventures and putting myself in new places. Within fifteen minutes of walking in the door at the Grand America, I had made two friends that, to this day, I still talk to at least four times a week. Everyone had said before going to Alt to go with a purpose, intention or goal you wanted to accomplish. As I am still new to this blogging world, I went with the goal of wanting to make new, inspiring and positive friends who I could bounce ideas off of, connect with and get creative with. I totally OWNED that goal, and found some of the most amazing, genuine, kind and inspiring individuals (shout out to my Alt. Tribe!) that I know I will be friends with for a LONG time. This time around in June, about half of my Alt. Tribe came back, and we added some new friends to the mix. My goal for this summit was still to meet and make wonderful and positive connections, but also to focus on where I see my blog and creative endeavors going. I also attended as a speaker, discussing Photoshop + Illustrator for Bloggers. Essentially, I took what I learned in four years of design school, and my three years in the real world and condensed it into an hour and a half class. I love working with bloggers for their design needs, so teaching them basic design skills was a treat. I cannot say enough amazing things about Alt Summit. If you are on the fence about going, COME. You never know what you will learn, what idea will be birthed, or what amazing new friend you will meet. My vision for my blog and freelance design has become clearer, and I can’t wait to share with you all what I have in store. I believe that taking risks, and putting yourself in a new environment helps an individual grow immensely, learn about themselves and find out what they want. I walked in with a smile on my face and left with the biggest grin. Check out some photos below to see the rest of my time in Salt Lake City.
The first night I attended Silhouette‘s sponsor dinner at The Melting Pot. The theme was black, pink and gold + flamingos. (I see a flamingo trend forming, more on that next week!)
I got to connect with one of my favorite bloggers, Joy from Oh Joy! who’s book, Blog Inc. got me started on this blog!
Taught my first design class, Photoshop + Illustrator for Bloggers on my BIRTHDAY! (Email me if you would like the presentation, or if you would like to schedule a time to run through it with me!)

The colors and attention to details is impeccable and oh so gorgeous.
Come back next week as I round up my favorite business cards from not only June, but January’s summit as well. Have a great weekend!

They did an excellent job really highlighting the beauty that seems to be overlooked by so many due to the rain. Check out F-Stop’s website + Vimeo channel for more gorgeous Emerald City images + videos!
