Font Friday 1.8

TGIF! I’m quite excited for the weekend and being able to relax.  Enjoy this week’s Font Friday!

The Little Prince
I love this quote from The Little Prince, and the typeface Grand Hotel. I recently discovered this font, and find it to be just darling. I love the loops and the weight of this typeface. It also translates well large or small. Enjoy!
My Mantra
I think this is a great mantra to have about life. I also love a solid serif font, like this one, Intro. There is a full version you can purchase, or download the trial one for free. The full version has different weights and styles, while the trial comes with the inline and regular version.

Font Friday 1.7

Hey All! My lack of posting this week is due to me working on some really great ones to come in the future! Quality over quantity, that’s what I say. This week went by crazy fast, I cannot believe 4th of July was already a week ago. Enjoy the two fonts from this week!

FR2S Let's Get Lost
I have been seeing a lot of geometric fonts popping up all over, all looking like they could be placed on an Urban Outfitters t-shirt. This font, High Tide, has been my favorite that I have found so far. It has tons of personality, without compromising readability too much. I wouldn’t recommend this font for smaller sizes, but for a shirt, header, or poster design, I think it is great.

FR2S Audrey
Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorite actresses of all time, as well as one of my role models. I love this quote + photo because I feel like it is such a great summation of her. The font used here is called Nexa. It is available in several weights to download for free, but if you want more, you have to pay a small fee. It is clean, simple, easy to read, yet elegant. I would use this font for both large and small type.

Happy weekend to everyone! I have some awesome events planned this weekend, so make sure you check back for some new blog posts next week!

Font Friday 1.6

Happy [late] Independence Day and Friday! It has been a crazy few days, so I am just now getting to show you my latest font finds. Hope you all had a great 4th, and keep your eye out for my upcoming post on the decorations and designs I created for the festivities.

Freedom Lovelo Font
Lovelo earlier this week and am really liking it. I love the width of the letters, and that it comes with an interesting semi-outlined version in a bold and light.
FR2S Klinic Slab
I enjoy this quote by Leo Tolstoy , and this font from Lost Type Co-op, Klinic. It comes in four different weights, each with italics as well. This typeface works well both large and small, and is quickly becoming a favorite among me and my design friends.

Happy weekend!

Font Friday 1.5

Happy Friday! The two fonts in this week’s round up are not new, but are some great ones. I hope you enjoy! I will be spending this weekend getting prepped for the 4th! Keep an eye out for that blog post!
FR2S Champagne
I’ve been loving poetry lately, and always thought this was a powerful verse. This font is called Champagne & Limousines. I love the name, and how it looks in all uppercase. It also comes in different weights, which is always ideal with a typeface. [Image from Flikr]
FR2S Lavanderia
I find it hard to find a good, free, script font that looks clean and isn’t too hard to kern. Lavanderia comes in three weights, and has numerous alternate letters, making it easily customizable. It is feminine, yet versatile, and has a great line weight.

Have a great weekend!

Font Friday 1.4

Happy Friday all! Today, I present to you three decorative fonts ( I wouldn’t use any of these for a lot of body type, personally). Each are unique and beautiful in their own way. Let me know which one is your favorite.
FR2S Alice in Wonderland
This quirky, yet elegant serif is called Foglihten No. 1. I stumbled across this one randomly and fell in love. It is modern with a heavy vintage/antique influence. It also comes with beautiful swashes and glyphs. You can download Foglihten No. 1 here.
FR2S Toy Story
Café & Brewery has some very interesting character forms. I LOVE the “G,” and wished some of the characters had more swashes like that. This is a great informal sans serif font, with some added personality in the letterforms. You can download Café & Brewery here.
FR2S Friday
The third font for today’s Font Friday is Mensch. I like this typeface because it has several different widths and options. It is playful, soft and versitile. This sans serif font would be great for an invitation to a summer BBQ! Download Mensch from here.

Have a happy Friday!

Font Friday 1.3

With all this June gloom here in LA I forget that it is summer time! However, this weekend is supposed to get nice + be a little warmer. Happy Friday to all, and enjoy these fonts.
FR2S Font Friday Airbag
I recently discovered this font, Airbag. I think it is an awesome font for a headline, or poster, so you can see the detail in the shadow.
FR2S Font Friday Quicksand
I love this song by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and this typeface called Quicksand. It has several different weights, and a dotted line version. It is great for both large and small text, and the variations are an added bonus!

Have a great weekend!

Font Friday 1.2

Finally Friday! I can’t believe it’s June! This year is flying by. June gloom is upon us here in LA, but I’ve heard that Seattle has been having clear, beautiful days. Enjoy this week’s font round up!
FR2S Smell the Roses
I’m a sucker for a good serif, especially one with alternative characters. Valentina is a playful typeface that looks great as a headline, or as body text.  You can download this typeface here.
FR2S Great Gatsby
How awesome is this art deco typeface?! Definitely gives off a Great Gatsby feel. Télefono has several great glyphs that complete this font. You can download Télefono here. Freetypography.com is a great resource for a wide range of awesome fonts.
FR2S Strike a Match
Lastly, I will leave you with a song lyric from T.I. and one of my current favorite fonts, Langdon. Similar to Bebas, Langdon has an added dimension with the option for a drop shadow version. I find it to be great for posters/prints or headlines. Langdon can be downloaded here.

Have a great weekend!

Font Friday 1.1

Hello all & happy Friday! It’s been a short but crazy week and I’m so excited for all the awesome weekend plans to come. For now, enjoy this week’s font roundup.
Pursuit of Happiness
I love this song by Kid Cudi, and after all, don’t we all want to be happy? League Script can be downloaded for free from The League of Moveable Type, an awesome website with a limited, yet well done selection. This font has been around for quite some time, but I always find myself using this light script font.
Nautico Font
Now that we are post-Memorial Day, white has been popping up everywhere. Welcome back white shoes, white jeans, white dresses, any and all white. I came across Nautik the other day and fell in love. It’s a great serif font with an added touch of personality. Nautik can be downloaded here.
Bebas Font
Bebas is such a great sans serif! It has the perfect height and has a larger width than Impact. Bebas only comes in all caps, but I’m not sure I would use it any other way. I’ve also been listening to Mumford & Sons like crazy, inspiring this quote. You can download the font here.

Font Friday 1.0

Happy Friday all! I’ve decided to start a new series, Font Friday. It will be several fonts that I have found during the week that I’m currently liking. I’m always on various websites (such as dafont.com or losttype.com) looking to see if any fonts catch my eye. Enjoy this week’s roundup, and happy long weekend!

Currently loving Silverfake, found here. It’s a great serif with an added personality.
Looking for a narrow, rounded sans serif, look no further! Meet Blanch, found here, from Lost Type Co-op. It comes in 6 different variations or weights. Take a look at the rest of their site, they have some great fonts.
Last, but not least, is a fun script font, found here at dafont.com called Lobster. I’m very particular with the script fonts I use and like, and this one caught my eye. I like that it is not too thin, yet has a weight variation.

Come back next Friday for a new trio!

It’s the Weekend!

its friday, weekend

Happy Weekend everyone! I’m a huge weekend fan, and Friday night happens to be my favorite part. Hope you all have a great evening! I’m off to Palm Springs for a weekend of relaxation and fun!
