I am loving this playful serif font, with awesome rounded terminals. BONUS: it comes in so many different weights, to fit many needs. It has a very elegant feel and would be awesome for prints/posters. Download Glamor here. Have a great weekend!

Font Friday 4.7 / Oscars 2014

The Envelope Please | Oscars 2014
This week, I had the privilege of attending  The 2014 Oscars Winner Envelope preview party hosted by Marc Friedland Couture Communications. In the last few years, the creation of the award envelope has become a work of art, and quite a big deal. Updated in 2011, Marc Friedland has revolutionized the look and feel of the Oscar awards. (Check out this USA Today article here for a more information about the new envelopes/awards.) Attending the event with my good friend Troy of Simply Troy, we got to see a first hand look at the creation of the most famous envelope in preparation for this Sunday’s Oscars!

Three envelopes are made for each nominee in every category. After the winner is announced, all other envelopes are destroyed, other than the one given to the winner. Pretty special!

Mock-up of what the winning card and envelope look like. The envelope weighs about 1/4 pound and is about 1/8″ thick. It makes quite an impact.

Delicious desserts, bits and drinks filled the room. (The party was sponsored by Ciroc and Beverly Hills 90H20).

Font Friday Inspiration
Happy Friday! This quote is particularly resonating with me today, and is a good reminder to take chances and go after what we want. I think we all are trying to find ourselves, and thinking about what we want is a good way to discover who we want to be. I really like this font, Baron Neue, and all the weights that it comes it. Check it out, and download it from here. Have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine’s Day, and happy Friday to all! I hope you have a great weekend, whatever your plans may hold! It’s supposed to be nice here in LA this weekend, so I’m hoping to get some much needed outside time! Valentine's Day Free Script Font

I love the playfulness of this script font, Motion Picture. It is versatile, and works well in medium to large sizes. Enjoy!

Font Friday 4.4

Too often I think we sell ourselves short of reaching our full potential. Here is your friendly reminder to never settle and always reach for what you want. Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
Don't Settle. Go for your goal.
I’m liking the distressed look and vintage typewriter feel of this typeface. I think when used sparingly, it becomes an a great visual addition to any layout or print. You can download this free font here.

Font Friday 4.3

In the spirit of the SUPER BOWL this weekend, I thought I’d do a Font Friday dedicated to my team, the Seahawks. Can’t wait for Sunday, I’m having my Seattle friends over, setting up a mimosa bar, and turning off my phone until the game is over! What are some of your plans? Have a great weekend, and GO HAWKS! Go Seahawks! I'm in!
This is an awesome block sans serif font downloadable here. It has a masculine feel, without being over powering.

Font Friday 4.2

This week I have been at Altitude Design Summit, which is something I have been so looking forward to. I’m loving getting to blog, doing all sorts of design projects and getting to meet new people. This conference seemed like the perfect interesection of all three, and let me tell you I am LOVING it. Definitely check it out. Coming was taking a chance for me, and I am so glad I did!
Font Friday Kenzo
I like a lot of san serif fonts that are tall and not too thick. Kenzo meets both of those requirements, and I love how it looks as a display type. Enjoy and have a great week!

Font Friday 4.1

This time next week, I will be at Altitude Design Summit! I’m so excited, I can’t even stand it! Enjoy today’s font friday, and this little French quote. Sometimes we need to remember, not everything will always be perfect, so take it in stride, and c’est la vie.

I enjoy this decorative typeface, and think it is great for headlines, prints, or stationery (how cute would that type be as a monogram!) Ecuyer Dax can be downloaded from here. Happy Weekend!

Font Friday 4.0

WOW! Starting the new year with my 40th Font Friday! I thought this quote was especially fitting for this upcoming year. Stay tuned for my new years goals next week. I’m still letting it sink in that we are in 2014!
Font Friday Young
Young is a great sans serif font that comes in a regular and italic style. It works great for a headline, or for smaller, multiple lines of text. Enjoy! (Also note, Pantone’s 2014 color of the year, Radiant Orchid.)
