FRIDAY. I hope you all had a great week and are able to relax and do something fun this weekend. Today’s free font download is Adobe’s newest creation, and has me and all my design friends totally geeking out. It pulls characteristics from Helvetica (a tried + true typeface, arguably one of the most popular of all time) and combines them with DIN (my current favorite font, legible, visually interesting and seemingly growing in popularity daily.) Designed by Adobe for their new Apple watches, this typeface is versatile and contains numerous weights, making it ideal for any design project large or small. Link to download is in this article, at the bottom. Have a great weekend!

Friday! Since yesterday I posted my fall cocktails post, I thought today I would double up on the usual Font Friday and Noteworthy inspiration. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Recently, I have been watching a bit of Shark Tank, and it is safe to say I am obsessed. When one of my gal pals, Ryan, sent me a list of inspirational Mark Cuban quotes, I knew I needed to make one of them a Font Friday. The typeface, Heuristica, comes in both regular + bold weights, and includes italics for both. Bonus! Enjoy the noteworthy articles below.
• Reading about Oh Joy! and her Target collaboration, part 1, 2 + 3, now that her final collection is out
• This beautiful look book designed by Kate Arends
• Can you design happiness?
• Loving this bright + fun packaging + logo design
• Mark Cuban’s motivational quotes for the worker in all of us
• Struggle with productivity? Check out this productivity quest.
• Change up your morning routine + improve your day
• A workspace for extroverts? Yes please!
It’s that time again…the WEEKEND! I hope you all have a great Friday and an even better weekend!
Loving this art deco inspired font, Le Super Serif, that can be downloaded from here. Not only is the font a beautiful serif, it also comes with numerous ligatures that make this font have a little more personality. Enjoy!
Happy Friday aka weekend eve! I’m so excited for all the events I have this weekend (sneak peak: a fun photo shoot in the works happening Saturday!) and to have a few days to relax a little more. Hope you all have a great weekend!
Axis is a sans serif font that is great for headlines, posters or a small amount of text overlay. The free download only comes in the bold weight, but I love the width of the letters, and it’s legibility. Download Axis from here! Enjoy!
Happy Friday! Here’s a little end of the week motivation to push through until the weekend. Here’s hoping for some cooler temps this weekend around LA.
Prata is a nice serif font that comes in only one weight + style. But, it does have that killer ampersand. I am a big fan of ampersands with a little flair or personality, and will be adding this to my list of favorites!
After a temporary hiatus, Font Friday is back in full swing. Today’s font is inspired by cowboys, wild west signage and mostly, Frontierland at Disneyland. Enjoy!
Corki is a slim slab font that has southern charm and flair. The font comes in both upper + lower case, with four different weights/types. It also contains numerous glyphs that make for fun designs or posters. Enjoy, and don’t forget to read the licensing before using.
Happy Fourth of July! Enjoy some BBQ, fireworks and our freedom. Hope you all have a great three day weekend, with lots of outdoor time + picnics.
Alexis is a great slab font that is reminiscent of the western days. It is great for headlines, posters, or any large scale type. I would not recommend using it for body copy as it has such a LARGE personality and will be difficult to read. You can download Alexis from here. Enjoy!
[I do not own this font, please be sure to check all licenses from the creator before using.]
PHEW it’s been a crazy few weeks, with Alt, Freutcamp and catching up with my job! My Alt Summit recap is coming next week, so get excited! Today’s Font Friday is from Emily McDowell + Garrett Gee‘s presentation. I have been a fan of Emily‘s work for a while now, and I love her fresh, real approach to her cards and comedy. They both spoke about pursuing your passion, not letting fear get in your way, and finding your own point of differentiation. Huge shout out to them, they were both hilarious and incredibly inspiring. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!
I decided to mix it up with today’s Font Friday, by showing two complimentary fonts. The script font, Jenna Sue, has the right amount of hand written feel, yet neatly done feel to make it a script font I’d use. The sans serif font, Quaver Sans, works well with the script because of its consistent lines and lighter weight. Together, they highlight the other. [As always, check out the rights to the fonts before using.]
Happy Friday! This weekend, I will be sequestering myself from the world so I can get a TON of things done, which made this the perfect word for this week’s Font Friday! My to do this for the weekend includes:
-Finishing up a logo for a client
-Branding design for another client
-Web layout + design
-Adding the finishing touches on my Alt Summit talk on Photoshop + Illustrator for bloggers!
-Organize my apartment
What will you be up to this weekend? Whatever you do, enjoy!
(The font, Tryst, can be downloaded from here.)
The world lost a very wise and special woman this week, Maya Angelou. For today’s Font Friday, I chose a quote from her that reminds all of us to be nice to those around us. Always try and be a bright spot in someone’s day :). The font, Roboto, can be downloaded from here. Not only does it come in various weights, it also has an italic version for each (a huge bonus for a free font!). Enjoy!
