Happy New Year

Hi all! This year has brought a ton of changes…all good, but changes none the less. I got married, I moved (still in LA, not to worry!), I started a new job. That’s a lot of BIG things to happen. 2015 has been a wonderful year, and I’m so excited to send out my new years card for the first time as a married woman.

Shutterfly New Year
This year we used Shutterfly to make our FIRST card as a new couple. Shutterfly has SO many options, and we chose to go with a 1 photo option with…GOLD FOIL. I love foil, and adding it to our holiday card creates a festive touch.

I selected envelope liners that matched the colors and playfulness of the card, and love the added surprise the recipient gets upon opening the envelope.

I hopped on over to the post office and found these adorable snowflake stamps that compliment the winter vibes and colors of our card.

Here’s to wishing you and yours a happy holiday season and new year, and to a very healthy and wonderful new year! Be sure to check out Shutterfly for all of their adorable card options, for the holidays, new years and beyond.

Wedding Invitations

With just a month until my wedding, I am busy wrapping up all final details and making sure everything is exactly as I want it. I’m going to be sharing bits and pieces of my wedding here, and figured I would start with my favorite part (other than the groom)…my wedding invitations! I worked with Minted to create an invitation suite that fits my aesthetic, and is something I will keep for years to come. Minted was AWESOME to work with, and they made it a breeze to get my invitations ordered. I knew I wanted feminine, classic, and a touch of gold foil. Check them out! They have so many options and ideas.

I love the scroll detail that is carried through the entire suite. It was the perfect design element to tie all the pieces together. It is feminine and classic, and the rose gold foil really makes it stand out.

The corks are all from champagne bottles we celebrated our engagement with.
Minted Wedding Invitation
The Hebrew phrase on our invitation is one of my favorites. We having a Jewish wedding, and this is is recited during the ceremony. It means “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.”
I love the all white look, with a few pops of color. I normally love colors, but for my invitation, I wanted it to feel more classic and sophisticated. I chose the scroll typography heart for the stamp which complimented the rest of the invitation quite well.
Minted Wedding Invitation
I am SO happy with how they came out, and they have been very well received by my guests. Minted made the whole process easy, and fast. The invitation sets the tone for your wedding, and I am so excited with the first impression this made on my guests.

[A huge thank you to Minted who sponsored this post. All opinions expressed are my own.]

Attitude of Gratitude

Attitude of Gratitude
The holiday season is upon us, and chances are you will be going to parties and giving and receiving gifts. I was always taught to have an attitude of gratitude and send a hand written thank you note following the receipt of a gift, or a lovely dinner party. According to Emily Post, written thank you notes are always a good idea, and should be written as soon as possible [within one week of receiving or attending a dinner.]
Attitude of Gratitude
When writing thank you notes, keep them short, sweet and in a conversational tone. Express your gratitude for the present received, and let the recipient know how much you appreciate it.

Some may think that sending a hand written note is old school in today’s world full of technology and emails. However, manners never go out of style, and everyone loves receiving a nice note in the mail.
Attitude of Gratitude
Letting the sender know how much the gift meant in a note shows your gratitude.
Attitude of Gratitude
Although it may seem obvious, you should always start your note with “Dear ______”, rather than just jumping right in.

Thank you notes tend to be sent more around the holidays, but are an act that can be done all year long. It is always a good idea to send a hand written thank you note for gifts received on your birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding, promotion, etc. Professionally, sending a hand written note after a job interview is a classy way to let the interviewer know you enjoyed your time.
Attitude of Gratitude
Following a big event, such as the holiday season or your wedding, it is best to get started right away with your thank you notes. Create a list of individuals whom you need to send your thanks to, and complete some every night. It is an easy way to show your gratitude, and let the individual know how much it meant to you. Plus, there are SO many cute stationery options out there, you are sure to find one that reflects your personality. Tiny Prints has such a wide selection, I found these three styles and instantly fell in love.

Perfectly Personal™ Holiday Cards

Tis the season for sending cheer! It is no secret that I love stationery, greeting cards and sending mail. This year, I told my family I would handle our annual holiday card to alleviate some stress and ensure it came out just right. We have used a variety of sites in the past to customize our cards, but this year I decided to use Shutterfly. Not only do they have a wide range of beautiful card options, the design + ordering process is so easy. It’s only the beginning of November and I can cross off holiday cards from my to do list. Check out what I chose for our annual holiday card this year.

Deciding which card was the hardest part of the whole process. Shutterfly has SO many adorable designs in a variety of formats, you’re sure to find something for your Perfectly Personal™ Holiday Cards. For me, this option, a single photo on the front, and a smaller photo on the back was exactly what I was looking for (shout out to our family pet, Lucy the Poodle, who makes a sassy appearance on the back).

In addition to having an awesome selection of cards, you can create an entire stationery suite, with custom return address labels and personalized postage as well as holiday party invitations and stickers. It really is a one stop shop for all your holiday card needs, and can be customized to fit your needs.
Perfectly Personal™ Holiday Cards
The typography selection that Shutterfly provides is top notch, and allows you to create a consistent and beautiful suite. For me, the overarching theme I wanted for my suite was a hand written font complimented with a sans serif typeface. I also wanted to bring in gold and silver to both the holiday card + party invitation.
Perfectly Personal™ Holiday Cards
I’m so excited to send out my holiday cards and party invitations this year. Still trying to decide what to do for your holiday cards? Check out Shutterfly’s impressive selection, and create your custom suite.

Featuring: Bliss & Bone

Bliss & Bone
A few months ago at The Cream event, I was fortunate enough to meet Carl + Cindy, the creative masterminds behind the unique and beautiful stationery and design agency, Bliss & Bone. Being a huge stationery fanatic (and having worked in the custom stationery industry) I was immediately drawn to their booth by their design aesthetic and individuality. They harmoniously combine the raw with the etherial, the rugged with the refined and the avant-garde with the eternal, and I have never seen anything like it. I can’t get enough of their innovative and fresh ideas, and was lucky enough to ask Cindy some questions behind her + Bliss & Bone’s creative intelligence.
1.Where does the name Bliss & Bone come from?
Bliss is the emotion. It is pure elation and joy. It represents the feminine.
Bone is the tangible. It is strength and commitment. It represents the masculine.
Bliss & Bone
2.How do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration from everything around me and pay close attention to trends in fashion, art and interiors.
3.When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I typically start with an inspiration board whether we are working on wedding invitations or a website. It really helps to set the tone and communicate a starting point to the client. It’s a great conversation starter to get us headed in the right direction.

From there the process varies slightly depending on the product but I dive head first into design and go back and forth with rounds until everyone is thrilled.
Bliss & Bone
4.What is the most unique invitation that you have created/your most favorite?
That’s a tough one. I try to make each invitation unique and approach each project with the question, what can I do differently this time?

My favorite is typically the most recent project since it’s where my heads at in the moment. Once I move on, I try to create work that is just as exciting as the last.

5.How do you/Bliss & Bone stay organized?
We are constantly working on this and finding ways to improve as we grow. Internally we have a lot of systems and processes in place and utilize items like dry erase boards with schedules, projects status and progress. Individually we all use a project management program called Asana that allows us to track our personal tasks and manage work flow.

It’s a work in progress and fortunately I have a really good memory when it comes to this stuff :)
Bliss & Bone
6.What is your motto, or how do you stay calm + positive under stress?
Great questions since I’m not sure I have one. Personally, I stay calm and positive as long as I’m organized. I like to talk about the next day, what is on everyone’s to do list, and how it’s going to get done. If I feel that everything is in its place then I can relax.
Bliss & Bone
Special thanks to Cindy for taking the time to answer these questions. Photos via Bliss & Bone and here.

I met Garance Doré at Alt. Summit last month after she gave her key note talk. What an inspiring, positive woman who is talented beyond belief. I can’t wait to get my hand on some of her cards. Check out some of my favorites below!

Feel the Love

All about Love, Hearts
Anytime I hear the words “feel the love” I automatically sing of this song in my head. All Disney references aside, this week will be dedicated to all things Valentine’s, love and celebration. Regardless if you are single, taken or somewhere in between, I think we can all appreciate love in whatever form it comes in..what is happier than that?!

To kick off the week of love, check out this adorable stationery brand, Sable and Snow. I had the pleasure of meeting some of the girls at Renegade Craft Fair this summer. Based in San Diego, this brand has a knack for illustrating greeting cards, journals or invitations, all done on eco-friendly paper. Check out some of their new Valentine’s Day line below.
